Work in Yellowstone National Park
Yellowstone Hiking Guides is a small family owned and operated tour company. We have been providing day tours and multi-day tours in Yellowstone National Park for over 10 years, but we have been exploring Yellowstone for way longer. From the fires of 1988 to the floods of 2022, we have witnessed spectacular Yellowstone events. YHG loves sharing local Yellowstone knowledge with visitors from around the globe. Join our team for a season filled with rare wildlife sighting, erupting geysers, spectacular waterfalls, and a lot of fun.

Learn from Locals!
Yellowstone Hiking Guides School is a six-day course for first year guides. No experience necessary; passion for the outdoors extremely necessary. YHGS does not guarantee employment, but does guarantee a WFA certification (extra fee), Leave No Trace certification, Food Handlers certification, and the Yellowstone National Park Guide Seminar.
During this intensive course you’ll learn about primitive travel, outdoor safety skills, wilderness navigation, local flora and fauna, local history, trip prep, food prep, sanitation, and customer service.
YHGS is pass/fail. Participants are examined on outdoor knowledge, naturalism, communication and teamwork.
The Driftwaters RV Resort offers tent camping and a bathhouse next to the YHG facility in Cameron, MT.
Students who complete the course have preferential employment opportunities. Guides who earn a position on the team will receive paid hands-on training with an experienced guide on the trail/on the road/on the water in Yellowstone before leading tours.
